IT Enterprise Engineer Certificate Program

(4 Courses – 12 Semester Credit Hours / 180 clock hours / 3 Months)

The IT Enterprise Engineer Certificate Program is available to meet the needs of the information technology industry. The intent of this program is to prepare students to work in the Information Technology (IT) field in general, and more specifically in computer networking and system administration. Training focuses on administering a network infrastructure including systems administration using Microsoft network operating systems, network security, network management, and emerging technologies.

Students receive training on how to install, configure, upgrade, troubleshoot, and repair microcomputer systems to industry standards to include its operating systems. Upon completion of this program students will also possess the basic networking skills to successfully manage, install, configure, and operate various types of networks which can be customized for apprenticeship or workforce development.

Students must complete and pass all 12 Semester Credit Hours from the curricula in the categories listed below:

2. ITMS-279: Enterprise Active Directory
3. ITMS-223: Introduction to Enterprise Security
4. ITMS-280: Advanced Enterprise Design

Description: This course includes self-paced and instructor-facilitated components. It provides students with the knowledge and skills to successfully plan, implement, and troubleshoot a Microsoft Windows Server™ Active Directory® directory service infrastructure. The course focuses on a Windows Server directory service environment, including forest and domain structure, Domain Name System (DNS), site topology and replication, organizational unit structure and delegation of administration, Group Policy, and user, group, and computer account strategies.

Description: This course addresses Microsoft Windows Server™ based infrastructure solutions but also includes some client focused content where appropriate. This learning product is to provide functional skills in planning and implementing infrastructure security. This course is part of the Security Portfolio and will act as the primary entry point for IT Professionals at the implementation level.

Description: This course provides students with the knowledge and skills to design Active Directory infrastructure and Services. Topics include the designing of the network infrastructure, directory services, identity management, authentication, and security policies. Business topics include: disaster recovery, personnel, equipment, and data management and design. This course covers the designing of IT administrative structure, best practices, standards, and service level agreements (SLAs).

Program Prerequisites
Attendance of the IT System Administrator Certificate Program or a score higher than 80% on the IT Enterprise Engineer Program Free Entrance Examination. Appointment is needed to take the Entrance Examination. Please contact our Test Center Administrator, Ms. Kimberly Shelton by phone at (910) 222-1013 or by email at to schedule the Entrance Examination.

How long is the Entrance Examination?
The examination is 2 hours long and it contains 50 questions verifying your knowledge of Microsoft latest operating system, server and messaging. This examination will give a clear understanding to the Director of Education on whether you should attend the IT System Administrator program first, prior to starting the IT Enterprise Engineer program.

What if my score on the entrance examination is lower than 80%?

If your score is lower than 80%, the Director of Education will recommend that you take the IT System Administrator Entrance Examination to see if the IT System Administrator Program will fit your knowledge better. The Admission process for this program will be followed.

How much is the Entrance Examination?

The examination is free of charge.

Can I transfer any credits into this program?

Yes, however, due to the short length of the programs, no more than No more than 3 credit hours can be transferred into the IT Enterprise Engineer Program.

How much is the program tuition?
The tuition for the program is $4,200. The tuition includes the following items:
• All textbooks needed for the program
• All supplies needed for the program (notepad, pen, highlighter, pencil)
• Free snacks, coffee, and sodas for the duration of the program
• Free exam vouchers towards the first attempt of each certification exam. Each exam voucher expires within one calendar year; however, for successful results, we recommend our students to take the exam within 2-3 weeks of the completion of each course
• Free re-attendance of each course within one calendar year

How much is the application fee?
InovaTech does not charge students an application fee when applying for any of our programs.

What is the pass rate on your certification exams?
In 2010, our average pass rate on the certification exams we teach was 85.955%.

Where will I take the certification exams?
We have both a Pearson VUE and Prometric test center. Please check the Testing Services page for information on how to register for certification exams.
